The bus hurdled faster toward the cliff. Super Josh flew in and removed the engine. He set it down in a field and all the kids cheered. The bus driver Mike patted Super Josh on the shoulder.

“Thanks kid,” he said. “The breaks went out and I couldn’t stop. If you hadn’t of saved us… He could not even finish his thought out loud. It was too revolting an idea. He radioed the garage and another bus was sent to take all the kids home. Super Josh went flying off to his next adventure. He did not have to wait long. His arch rival the Pink Menace arrived.

“Mr. Girl, colored costume himself,” he said. Nelson sneered.

“Your pee yellow costume is so much better,” Nelson said.

“What do you want cream puff?” Super Josh asked. A devious grin spread across his face.

“Did you like my stunt with the bus?” Nelson asked. Super Josh’s mouth dropped open.

“You cut the breaks?” Nelson nodded.

“I sure did.”

“Why would you do that?” Super Josh asked.

“You know Scott Fulton?” Nelson asked.

“That dork that won the science fair?” Super Josh asked. Nelson nodded.

“He’s my greatest academic rival.”

“That’s so lame,” Super Josh said. Nelson rolled his eyes.

“He beat me by one vote to win the science fair.”

“That’s no reason to cut the bus he rides brakes’ psycho,” Super Josh exclaimed.

“I don’t want to hear a lecture from you,” Nelson scoffed.

“You, psychotic worm,” Super Josh said, grabbing the front of his super hero costume.

Nelson shoved super Josh away.

“My project was ten times better than Scott Fulton’s,” Nelson exclaimed.

“You’re coming with me to confess what you did to Principal Anderson,” Super Josh said.

“Not without a fight.” Nelson vomited his toxic black sludge and Super Josh ducked, narrowly avoiding the sludge. He shot back with a mega punch and Nelson went flying. He snapped a tree by flying through it. Nelson shook his head and regrouped himself. He went flying high up into the air. He came crashing down and Josh moved; this allowed Nelson to crash through the ground.

“You suck at this super villain thing,” he called to Nelson. Next Super Josh caught an uppercut to the jaw that staggered him. He wiped blood from his mouth and gripped Nelson’s throat. His eyes burned with hate as he glared at Nelson.

“Listen here you Pink Pansy,” Josh said and then snarled. Nelson’s eyes widened as he coughed.

“I- I can’t br…”

“You ever hit me again and I’ll strangle you to death,” Josh said. “Do you understand me?”

Nelson nodded.

“Please let go of me. I’m sorry.” Super Josh let go and Nelson fell to the ground; he was rubbing his throat.

“You are going to confess everything to Principal Anderson,” Super Josh insisted. Nelson nodded.

Principal Anderson rubbed the throbbing vein in the middle of his forehead.

“Are you telling me you almost killed a bus full of your classmates just because Scott received one more vote than you did?” Principal Anderson said. “That’s insane son.”

“I know,” Nelson said.

“Well, I should report this to the police and expel you,” Principal Anderson said. But instead, I’m going to give you a ten day in school suspension, where you just report to detention for ten days straight.”

“Thank you, sir,” Nelson said.

“You are a very intelligent student” Principal Anderson said.

“Thank you, sir,” Nelson responded.

“Josh here was our seventh-grade quarterback, but he had to quit the team,” the Principal said.

“Why?” Nelson asked. My supper powers wouldn’t have been fair to compete with,” Super Josh sighed.

“He loved football more than anything,” Principal Anderson said. As do you love academics. But you’re both so much more than just an athlete or a stellar student.

“What are we,” Nelson asked. Principal Anderson leaned back in his chair.

“You are both super!” he said.
