Lexi and Christopher
Lexi came back down with Christopher junior and brought lunch for Christopher at his law firm. She smiled at Harper his secretary as the two women were familiar with each other as she nodded and walked her to Christopher's office catching up on girl chat . Lexi had frequent the law firm that her son was familiar with the office and knew where he was .
Christopher was on a business call as his law firm was booming with new clients and all the P R that he was receiving. Lexi let herself in as she started to set up the lunch as this had become ritual once a month with Lexi letting Christopher see his son and them spend time together. She was a bit upset that Christopher still hasn't shown a single indication of any romantic feelings towards her at all since she came back into town .
Sure him and Sarah were still legally married as a legal seperation was filed and approved by the state. Him and Sarah were better on the terms they were at because she was still too much for Christopher to take consideration of rekindling the seven year relationship they had which he found out was a complete lie making him part of a scheme to hurt Lexi over petty jealousy of a immature girl.
After his procedure mum was the word as he was keeping his secret weapon to himself that safeguarded him from scandalous woman that wanted to trap him. Christopher was too much of a gentleman for him not to be taken advantage of.
Christopher finshed up his business call as he smiled at his son opening his arms to welcome him to spend the weekend with him . Sarah was allowed visits with the kids unsupervised one weekend a month . During this time him and Lexi hung out and Christopher junior was there without his sibblings .
" It looks great . What did you bring today ?" Christopher said as he held his son and placed a chased kiss on lexis cheek. Christopher wasn't really wanting anything to do with woman for a while so a chased kissed was all he could offer her for the monthly lunch together.
" Well fried chicken, potatoes salad , some cornbread, and some sweet tea. I also have apple pie for dessert. " Lexi explained as she began to plate food wrapped in aluminum foil to keep the contents cool and warm . She was wonderful cook and a wonderful mom. Lexi was also well off with her career so she didn't need anyone to support her.
" How have you been Lexi ?" Asked Christopher as he went to his office bathroom to wash his hands as he helped Christopher junior wash his hands too. The sight of the father and son warmed lexi's heart . She liked how well chris fell into her sons life so quickly.
" I've been better. How about you? Anything new from the last time we've seen each other." Said Lexi as she was fishing for information of what Chris did while she was away . Christopher noticed the tone in her voice . He looked at Lexi ignoring her prying nature he remembered she had. She was never the one to ask right out she would always skirt around the actual question she wanted to know .
" What's the matter ? Why have you been better?" Asked Christopher as he really didn't want to know but it was him being a gentleman because she brought him food and allowed him to see his son the least he could do is be civil about their exchanges . He looked at her sitting down to eat as Lexi placed a plate made in front of him as she began to make her son a plate to eat .
" It's nothing really. It's just there is this guy at work . I run into him from time to time and he is always asking me out." She explained all the while looking at Christopher's reaction. Lexi did this on purpose to spark some jealousy in him. Knowing noone actually was asking her out per say since she worked alone a lot." Sometimes he gets rather persistent and it sometimes makes me uncomfortable to be around him." She said pleading her case .
" So what's the problem? Your a beautiful woman with many good years left. You would be a prize to any man lucky enough to catch your attention." Replied Christopher between bites of food ." Perhaps it bothers you that he is pursuing you because your refusing to see past his efforts to be near you. When men are persistent it means we think very highly of you and want to really get to know you." He added as some insight to all of this.
Lexi was not happy that he didn't fall for her trap in making him jealous in fact he acted like she was the one being to harder on the fabricated mystery mans offer. She had to use another tactic to get Christopher 's attention.
" I suppose your right. There is no reason why I shouldn't. " She paused taking a bite of food before continuing." It just I'm not ready yet. I'm still not over my ex . I don't know if I ever will be." She said as she looked at Christopher's eyes for a reassured look ,but there was none at all . Christopher glared at her as she began to look puzzled how he looked at her . He knew exactly where this was going and he was about to entertain the idea of it.
" Look lexi there is a reason why people are called ex's it's because after the relationship ends it's supposed to be non-existent. Perhaps someone new and exciting will open up your heart to love again if not love a good time and to blow off some stress ." Said Christopher knowing what lexi was insenuating but he wasn't biting . He just got over Sarah and what she did to Regina and now Lexi wants them to pick up where they left off. Like seven years hadn't put distance between them . Like she didn't hide an entire child and disappeared without an explanation.
With Sarah and Regina fighting and now Sarah and Lexi fighting on top of Martha antaginizing the entire process he was done with the female petty wars for a good long while. Now was the time to focus on his career and his children. Lexi was not part of the plan with him still sorting things out with Sarah. He didn't care Kenny gave him the seal of approval to persue Lexi . He saw that as a trap waiting to snap and swollow him whole where he would wake up ten years later asking what the hell did I do in my life other than being manipulated by three woman trying to squeeze babies out of him for their own selfish purposes.
Christopher was not going to allow that to happen again. It be rather foolish to keep jumping in fire pits and expecting not to get burned in the process. He sighed as he watched her face drop at his words.
" Christopher I'm talking about us. We never got closure from our relationship. I never stopped loving you and there has been no one else besides you?" She said as she tried to convince him of her utter dedication to him.
" You mean no one has snatched you up in the seven years you've been away from me. " He said as he let out a chuckle ." I am kind of finding that hard to believe. " He said as he saw her face changed to upset.
" It's the truth . " She demanded in desperation needing him to believe her in this time . There were a few guys she had fun with from time to time . Even a girl once with all the people she was introduced too in her line of work ,but it only last in the city she visited and ended when she left. Nothing concrete to be considered many type of a involved relationship at all.
" Lexi. I'm a lawyer. I see and comprehend a great deal. I worked hard for my profession and my level of expertise is fraud. Please don't sit there and lie directly to my face. Your a terrible liar you always have been a terrible liar. " He said in a cold tone knowing a lie if he ever saw one. Christopher was a skilled lie detector and could read the room like a detective. Right now he was reading Lexi and her purpose here.
" I'm not lying?" She said more offended of him accusing her of things he didn't know exactly.
" I find it hard no one touched you in seven years. That you have been celibate this entire time apart. That no one peaked your interest at all." He said in a lawyer tone as she looked guilty as she lowered her eyes and than straitened herself in a guilt free posture." Lexi do me a favor and stop playing games with me. I was never one for mind games so please stop." He said in a even tone that was too calm. Christopher only got calm like this before he lost his temper.
" That's exactly what I'm saying. I'm not playing games with you. I would never do that to you." She said not liking he was pointing out her lies. She wanted Christopher back she promised Sarah she was going to take him to hurt her dear cousin the way she hurt her . This little plan of her was not working out as she planned.
"Hmmmmph. I see. Well lunch was great as always and it's great you came to see me . Are you leaving Christopher junior with me this weekend or is this just a visit?" He asked as he was trying to avoid this conversation all together.
" He can stay the weekend but I'm not done discussing things with you?" She said sounding dejected.
" But here is the thing Lexi. I am done talking about this. Unless your going to be honest with me and stop playing these immature games with me about fabricated interested potential partners in waiting laced with I've been faithful only to you story than I don't have time for it." He said as he finished up eating as he stared at Lexi as her mouth hung open in shock of his claims against her.
" Chris cross!" Yelled Lexi.
" I'm Christopher. I haven't been that stupid boy for a long time now. Between you and Sarah and your games you two like to play with me like I'm community property yo-yo for you two I'm am just tired of it all." He said as he stood up not wanting to entertain this conversation anymore." Yours and Sarah's little war that is going on between you two just leave me out of it." He said asperated that the conversation was taking a turn for the worse. He knew one day this conversation would happen ,but he didn't expect Lexi trying to deceive him during it.
Lexi looked hurt and angry he rejected her as she began to pack up the bags with the trash left over as she began to shove it in the bag forcefully as she was clearly upset.
" If you don't want me anymore than why do you agree to visit with Christopher junior if your not going to work it out with me. What is the point of it all if it's not going to work out?" Cried Lexi in frustration at her lack of progress.
" For Christopher junior. It has nothing to do with you at all. My son matters and I have an obligation to him even though I didn't know he existed until recently. I take care of what I created and own up to my deeds. He is the one that matters here. If you choose to keep him from me now he knows me that's on you. You will be the one who places in his mind where he is wanted and where he isn't wanted. But if I can help it I will always want what I created no matter who is the mother." Stated Christopher as Lexi eyes pored with tears and frustration.
" Christopher junior let's go. Your daddy doesn't want me to be here " she said grabbing the boy as he reached for his father in want leaning towards Christopher as he grabbed the little boys small hands as she pulled him apart from his father and left the room in tears.
" Lexi don't do this to him. He doesn't understand why he has to go " pleaded Christopher as Lexi left the office . Harper looked at him momentarily as she didn't know what to do at what she just saw. Christopher didn't like how Lexi used her son to try to reunite them . He loved Lexi once but they were different people now .
Meanwhile Sarah layed in bed beside Xander as they had been seeing each other twice a week in between their class schedules. Sarah knew it would be seen as him misusing his position to seduce a student of his ,but right now she didn't care.
Zander was the second man she had slept with and although she was still young and naive about certain things about sex Zander was catching her up to his speed to match him limbado . Sarah didn't know if it was her not being with a man for a year or her own personal validation that another man other than Christopher wanted her. It was a constant class then lunch then they fell into bed every time.
Sarah looked at Zander as he smiled in his sleep and Sarah rubbed her face trying to figure out what she was doing with him when she was still technically still married to Christopher. Sarah was not even sure why she didn't drop his class when they started with each other. But it happened all so fast them hooking up and she felt like the cliche thirsty girls she accused him of attracting .
Her and Zander would eventually have to talk about what was going on between them two or if she was a casual hook up to him. Sarah had been pretty good about stopping by the pharmacy to pick up her prescription of plan b after every sexual encounter . It was like clockwork class , lunch, sex,and plan b . She wasn't going to get pregnant by someone who was known for random hook ups with failing students and she was sure why they lasted this long was because she wasn't stupid. She actually was a top student in all her classes.
Sarah got up and got dressed as her mom got her a car to help her out . She grabbed her keys as he started to go as now she had a car she could leave when she wanted to. She headed out to see a missed call from her mom and suddenly went to her mother to meet her for something as it was always something with her mother. She didn't go to the pharmacy this time as she rushed to meet her mother from her urgent need for Sarah. Meaning her mother was having a very hard day and needed some comfort.
