The broadcast

News cast stood across from the complex as they rolled camera at the complex that blazed through the night . They noticed multiple ride shares begin to line up as a woman and a man stood there handing spare envelopes and helping one by one groups into a van .

" What is going on over there ." Asked curiously one of the nearby camera crew.

" Not sure . Perhaps we should follow after we wrap up here to see the story?" Concluded the other crew member as the motioned to the anchor to wrap it up. The tired firefighters sat on the sidelines as they took turns coming the now cooled down complex in teams. The remaining had sat down and offered coffee and bread to ease a night of service to the community.

Police cars filled the street blocking off all the businesses from normal activity. As the last van left to remove all tenants to their destination. The camera crew hoped in a news van to follow one as they departed. Bethany stroded over to the officer as Axel held a sleepy Sunny in his arms. He went to lay her down in the backseat of the car as he made her comfortable.

The road now slowly clearing of vehicles prior to the fire all moved out of the way. The tenants who didn't have transportation Bethany arranged it along with severance pay to help them get on their feet until the complex was settled.

Officer Wise stepped out of the car as he approached the fire crew and they directed him to Bethany. Officer Wise smirked at who it was.

" Trouble seems to always find you I see." He said in a humorless manor as he glared at Bethany unimpressed. Bethany couldn't put her finger on it but she felt like officer Wise wasn't a fan of hers. Perhaps it was him watching sunny at the hospital that made him not like her.

" Well it's not like I sent them a party invitation." She snipped back as officer Wise narrowed his eyes at her and realized where the red headed brat got her smart mouth from . He didn't like smart mouth comments.

she saw officer Winchester talking to a crew of fireman as their faces changed in sorrow.

" Excuse me. " She said excusing herself away from officers wise glares at her. Bethany noticed how Winchester looked disturbed and headed to the man wondering why he looked like that.

" Hello again officer Winchester. " She said approachimg the two men in question.

The firefighter rubbed his forehead and looked disturbed as he galred at Bethany now.

" What is it?" She said now catching on his reluctance.

" Not everyone evacuated the building when the fire started ." He said softly as it was hard for him to say.

" What how many? " Said Bethany looking towards the complex . Her eyes brimmed with anguish and despair .

" Well one so far . We've cleared only the bottom three floors . " He rubbed his face as if he was withholding information as he glanced at Winchester.

" What did you find ?" He said more insisted .

" It's odd. All the building so far is conflicting. The odd apartments well all the doors were opened like who ever did this was clearing the apartment. The gas stoves were all turned on and well when we went to the even apartments across the way. Well only the front room doors were open. Thats where we found two bodies in a back room. " The fireman sighed as his heart filled with discomfort." We will tell you how many once we finish sweeping for survivors." He looked at Bethany momentary and nodded as he went back inside the building.

" Shit." Sweared Winchester.

Bethany handed Winchester the partially burned flyer Axel handed her. He looked down as he read the paper now rubbing his jaw line as his face grew locked. He looked like he was about to cry then looked at Bethany and gave a sympathetic look.

" I'm sorry. Your not having much luck with this place. First Norma-Jean and James and now the complex. I believe this place took a curse one time or another to get such bad luck all so close together. Do you know anyone who would do this?" Asked Winchester as he shook his head.

" No. Not that I remember. James is on trial for murder. I'm sure this wasn't his doing." She replied realizing people got hurt. Axel looked afar as he waited for Bethany.

" So I need to file a report or anything or do I need to wait for the investigation to complete. I have to call to verify all my tenants made it safely to their hotel rooms and make accommodations to house them depending on the time frame of the investigation? " Bethany said knowing Axel was waiting.

" You rented hotel rooms for all the tenants that stayed here?" Officer Winchester said with a pleased tone in his voice.

" Yes. I also fed them last night . It's not their fault this happened. She shouldn't suffer because of something they had no part of. Perhaps it's just a thought. There are a lot of small businesses across the street. If that flyer says the time correctly they might have seen something. I was at court testifying against James and it seems the papers were placed when I went to the hotel to testify . I was gone a few days and wasn't here. This is the first I've seen this flyer. Maybe the tenants also seen the flyers. Do you need their names and where they are staying to ask?" Bethany said thinking about the situation.

" It's a shame you aren't on the force." Admitted officer Winchester.

" Why is that?" Bethany mused.

" Your ability to pay attention to details is well academic. Eventually we would have asked the shops across the way ,but most criminals watch their surroundings before they set a place on fire. But it takes a real genius to do it in broad daylight." He said sighing.

" No. We will call you when we have an update in the investigation. The firemen said you brought them breakfast as a thank you. We need more like you in our community. Instead of idiots committing crimes. " He said as he dismissed Bethany.

Bethany followed Axel with her car to his house. He went to open the door as Avery stepped outside suddenly closing the door behind her. Axel motioned for Bethany to wait in the car as he turned to look at Avery in suspicion.

"Axel . Your home early." She said blocking the front door. Axel looked at her now curious .

" Yes. I tend to do that when the tournament ends due to cancelling fights because of injuries and someone didn't show up this tour to fight." He said reaching for the door. Avery held the door knob shut.

" What's Bethany doing here ? Don't she have her own place?" Avery said now nervous.

" I'll explain that in a bit. Is there a reason why you aren't allowing me access to my own home." He said tired and now aggervated.

" No. I just well . Um. Hmmm. Have a guest. I mean a friend over." She said thinking fast.

" You mean you brought home a friend or a friend friend ." He said slower to gage her response.

" None of your business. You two need to go to Bethany's." She said suddenly.

" Kinda hard since it burned down last night. That where we were all night . Let me in Avery . You are being ridiculous. I've seen you with men before why is this one different." He stood back to look at her strangely then asked cautiously."

It is a man? Or have you have switch teams you know exploring new venues and landscapes?" He asked as Avery glared at him in anger.

" Eeewww. I'm not going to justify that question with an answer you pervert." She said as she was ashamed and embarrassed talking to her brother about her tendacies. Than she revisited the conversation as she looped around .

" What?" She realized what Axel said." The complex burned down?" She repeated.

" Yes . We are tired. Hungry . And not in the mood for your games right now. I have a child I need to get to bed and Bethany needs a bath and food. Move Avery." Demanded Axel. He pushed passed her and opened the door .

" Axel!" Screamed Avery as she followed him inside . She wasn't ready for him to find out about their mom being home just yet .

" Axel is that you?" A voice rang out Axel recognized the voice as he glared at Avery feeling betrayed and scorned at her little deception.

" Who is that?" He said louder." That better not be whom I think it is?" He said eyes brimming red and angry now .

Avery covered her head in response waiting for the scolding . Holding her hands up in defense." It's mom. She came back." She said in a small frightened voice .

" And you didn't pick up the phone to tell me to even warn me." He said angry .

" What was I supposed to do kick her out. She is our mom." Pleaded Avery.

" She is only here because she needs money. Did you forget she took all the money Dad left and ran away doing ansestors knows what for over a year. Did she care we were left with nothing." He said now leaving the house.

" I can't believe you kept this from me Avery . When were you going to tell me? " He spatted.

Bethany watched Axel and Avery in a heated argument from afar. She looked at Sunny still asleep as she cranked the car and reversed. Axel looked up to see this and waved at Bethany to stop.

" Now look what you did. Do you realize she spent all night helping the entire complex find a home and she isn't even welcomed in my own home. Nice welcome home , Avery ." He said now trying to catch Bethany .

He glared at Avery." Get her out of my house now. I'm going to find Bethany and I will be back with her and Sunshine. Mom don't get to pick and choose when she wants to be our mom. She lost that right when she left us the way she did. Did you forget what you had to do to get Caden set since we were on tournament. You just got him on a new school. He can't keep going back and forth in and out of the house with her. " He said pointing at her.

Avery face grew mad as he referred to the house as his. In her mind no she didn't feel bad taking the home from him now. She screamed as she went inside and slammed the door shut locking it. Axel got in his car as he called her phone trying to reach her.

Meanwhile the news crew caught up with a tenant and did an interview. The tenants were so grateful to Bethany's generosity they sang her praises.

Regina still in bed tired and exhausted heard Victoria come up the stairs with Alexander. She opened the door as she looked at Regina . In her hand she held a paper bag of fried pickles and pickled halapenyos on grilled cheese.

Regina could smell the food and it smelt delicious. " Is that grilled cheese and pickled halapenyos?" Said Regina as Victoria walked in .

" What?" Victoria said suddenly confused.

" That bag there . Is it pickled halapenyos and grilled cheese?" She repeated more sternly.

" What were you a dog in another lifetime." She sassed Victoria. Regina jumped out of bed and pulled out the pickled halapenyos and ate them savagely . She didn't understand why she wanted this food she hated grilled cheese . She shoved it in her mouth not thinking as the flavor erupted in her mouth.

Victoria stared at her like she was watching an bad sitcome." Are you okay. Thanks for eating my leftovers I guess." She said slowly moving to sit on the chair in the room.

" It taste so good can you go get me some more. Everything I smell all day has made me sick to my stomach." Regina complained.

" Regina you hate pickles and cheese . Um you don't even eat bread." Said Victoria confused.

Victoria fished in her purse and pulled out a home pregnancy test. Regina glared at her suspicion on her face.

" What the hell. You keep random pregnancy test in your bag hoping you can use it one day . Aren't you like a hundred year old. Isn't your eggs dead yet." Snipped Regina.

" Regina I had you at seventeen. My eggs aren't that old." She Retorted.

" Did Roger finally knock you up. It's a skill . To make up for him not wanting kids he makes them just fine. " She snapped at her.

" No. Stupid woman . It's for you. I think your pregnant. You don't eat the food you just inhaled." She said tossing the test at Regina.

" Don't be ridiculous . I'm not pregnant. " She denied.

" Have you had sex recently." Asked Victoria.

" Yes . " She said now thinking of Christopher.

" Did he use anything. And you do not count. " She said as Regina face grew red at her side comment.

" Still don't explain the test in your bag ?" Deflected Regina.

" Take the damn test and stop denying what you feel." She said shoving Regina in her bathroom.

Regina looked at the test and pondered. I could throw it away say it didn't work. No then she will probably pop up with another and another like a Mary Poppins bag of worthless stuff. Regina peed on the stick and came out of the bathroom as she handed it to Victoria.

" Happy now. I peed on your witch wand." She said as Victoria layed it on a table to sit.

Just then the news broadcast came on .

" Today is meadow Park Town square tragedy struck. A neighborhood in distressed as a town relic burns to the ground . Fire fighter worked hard to estinguish the burning building that houses over sixty people for years in this quaint little sub town. Four are confirmed dead in this act of arson . No names have been released to family members of the deceased as of yet.

But the real hero or shall I say heroine is Bethany Grigori . A landlord of the complex in question. Instead of leaving her former tenants on the street homeless. She secured hotel rooms. Food. And money to live off of until an investigation can be conducted. She even served the service men breakfast for all their hard work.

This heroine is an inspiration to a community of this complex. In the mist of tragedy she stayed with her tenants until all were taken care of . She isnt only a landlord. She is a friend to the community. I am Zoe Wheathers. Signing off on what's happening today .

" What the hell." Screamed Regina as she watched the news. Victoria looked at the test at the same time.

Across the ways Ruth-Anne and Bobby-Joe watched the news . Eyes glued to the screen. He turned to glare at his sister Ruth - Anne.

" What?" She said filing her nails.

" Four are dead. No one was supposed to die. ?" He said now knowing the miscalculation of their deeds.

" You said turn on the gas and pour the gas that's all?" She snorted annoyed.

" I see you found time to steal jewels but not make sure the apartment was cleared. Four people are dead. That is murder on top of arson if we get caught for this." He barked bitterly.

" Get caught what. You never said anything about getting caught. I look terrible in orange." Ruth-Anne cried obnoxiously.

" Wearing orange will be the least of your worries." Snapped Bobby -Joe as he rose up above his sister angry.

Meanwhile back at the Zehetii mansion . Victoria peered down at the pregnancy test .

Victoria let out a small gasp as she went to see Victoria face pale . " It's fine we will let Roger know where she is now?" Reassured Regina .

" No Regina it's . It's." She pointed at the test as two red lines showed in the splash window

of the pregnancy test.

" Oh fuck." Regina replied.
