Enough love
Bethany and Axel spent most of the time together when he wasn't training. When Axel was training his mind was on Bethany.
Avery does a roundhouse kick landing one and knock Axel down on his bottom. She bounces around and lands a inside jab and a reversal on Axel. She looks at her brother oddly.
" What's the matter with you? You coming down with something ,or am I just getting better?" Avery asked seeing the far off look her brother did .
Axel slightly moved to the left then the right not really paying attention not making any jabs just slightly evading and blocking. Avery began to get frustrated with his lack of a fight.
"Axel!" Yelled Avery now annoyed with his divided attention.
" I'm sorry I was just thinking." He replied laying against the ropes as he stared into space.
" Oh your thinking. It must be serious. Don't hurt yourself over there." She sassed.
" I love her." He whispered as he smiled.
" Love whom? Oh the mystery girl you run off too after practicing all day. She better have an ice bath for your sore muscles after I'm done with you today." Jabbed Avery.
Avery and Axel warmed up together before sparing battles. Then they were separated by gender and weight class. But this particular day Axel head was elsewhere. He blocked Avery's jab and rolled behind her. Avery spun around confused why he changed up his footwork.
" Oh you got it bad, huh?" Stopped Avery now examine her brother. She signal a water break as the hopped off the stage and she pulled up a chair.she sat in it backwards proping her arms up on the back of it.
" Talk to me Axel. Your gone all hours of the night. Your distracted. Then now your practically dancing and gliding across this place . This girl is really messing up your focus." Avery said concern.
" It is a girl right?"she asked confirming.
" Yes it's a girl." He said soberly.
" Hi there you are." Mused Avery.
" I'm sorry. Remember in college our old group we studied in?" He asked Avery .
" Axel I hardly call three people a study group with two of the three being us. It was more of a trio." Replied Avery.
" Well . I ran into the third member of our trio a few months ago." He explained.
" Oh gosh that girl that had that rich stuck up guy stuck on her. The one who could pass for a tomboy." Avery confirmed.
" Well him and her aren't together anymore. We've been hanging out a lot. She has the most beautiful daughter. She runs an apartment complex now. She lived solid ." He said .
" Well does she like you the way you like her.?" Said Avery concerned.
" It don't matter to me I can have enough love for the both of us. That's how much I love her." He swooned.
" Axel, it does matter. All the love in the world isn't enough for a one side relationship. Look what happened to our parents. Dad thought he could love enough for both of them." Reminded Avery.
" You said she had a daughter. You know that can be a complication if the father is still in the picture." Stated Avery concerned.
" He isn't. He left her and married another. He knew she was with child and still left her." Explained Axel.
" Sounds like your really invested." Avery confirmed.
" More than invested. I want to marry her . I want to help her with her daughter. I want to protect her." He said playing with his hands as he said it.
" But does she want to marry you. Look at the track record. Easy to be engaged." Avery pointed out.
" She isn't like that. She is different. I loved her in college too." He remanised .
" Are you holding onto nestalga? We aren't the same people we were in college. " She said now a whisper.
"hear me out . I speak from personal experience. Caden wasn't part of my plan when his father promised the world and left me without remorse. People remaining the same is a fantasy not a reality. See the person she is now. Not remember whom she was in college. If you love the past memories of her then your loving an asperation of the past. "She said remembering the ordeal she was put in.
" That lawyer was an selfish prick. Did he ever invite you to his place? Axel asked.
" No. Kept saying it was easier to meet at a hotel. I took fell for it. Thinking I was special. When I told him I was with child. He became a different person. Children changes things. " Explained Avery.
" He took advantage of you. You were younger woman to an older man. You put faith in him. He should have been more responsible for breaking hearts. A man seeking out a woman your age was fishing for a good time not a family." Soothed Axel.
Axel and Avery were close as twins could be . He couldn't keep anything from her. His sister was the most important person to him. When she followed him into the tournament he worried for her safety .
" Well the way I see it. If you don't get it together we won't make mortgage and we will be training to be homeless. Now that's a fight none of us are trained for." Remarked Avery.
" Why do we keep the house? I mean really why don't we sell it. We are hardly ever there. We moved City to city to train . Stay in hotels for weeks at a time. Then we move on. We basically paying for a very expensive storage shed." Gripped Axel wanted to rid his memories of his mother from a place he now resented because of her.
" I stay for the memories. We have lived there our entire lives. Dad made sure we had a place to live regardless of how mom made it so unbearable at times. It was more dad's house then hers." Reasoned Avery.
" Avery I get what you are saying, but all I see is years of unhappiness. The air there isn't the same. The only safe place there is the gardens. Where dad would train us. Dad worked hard on his gardens that's the only thing that matters to me in that miserable house now dad is gone and mom is ansestors knows where." He said in a distained tone. As he sighed.
" Just think of the future children and grandkids can inherit the property. We can pass it done in generations . Dad never had much growing up. This was how he showed he loved us. Mom was just an unhappy person. You can't fault dad for her struggles. " Avery sighed.
" But I'm serious we need to get back to training unless you want to be in the where is our next meal coming from tournament in the future." Push Avery as the both headed to the ring to train again .
