Melina dreaded having to tell Alicia about her sexual act that made Melina holding her pink slip nervous. Alicia was a girl with a bad reputation. Her mom forced her to get a job as her grades didn't look like tenth grade was shaping up for her. She lived in a house on the other street to Melina as she had her parents and her two younger brothers. Her cousin and her kids and her auntie and their kids live all in one home. You could say she had too much family to be able to get away with anything. This was a normal dwelling with every room occupied with many families. She had brothers and cousins and nieces and nephews all in one house.the girl was also big boned and she had a really sour attitude about having to get a job to help the family. Alicia would pick Melina up from the bus stop so she could talk her into paying for breakfast on their way to school. The girl liked to eat too. Melina wasn't scared but she knew where she lived and that was scary. Alicia came in ten minutes late as Matt let cici open the store and Melina stood there as cici didn't want to face Alicia as he was the one who caught them and dragged the other person out of the restaurant. The boy he fired was always late and had a smart mouth. Melina waited now she was fifteen minutes late as she came in her hair down as she was supposed to have it up neat and in a hat. Alicia shirt was untucked and her pants need ironing . Cici usually tapped her for her appearance but he knew what was going to happen so he stayed behind the grill as he lifted his head to let Melina know she was here. Alicia came in as she saw Melina. Usually they never worked a shift together as Matt kept friends and family in rotation. Melina took nights most days so seeing her there in the morning startled her.she looked at the slip in her hand as she knew something was up. " What are you doing here? This isn't your shift. I told them I was coming they didn't need to bring you in." She said as it was common for Matt to call Melina to handle her friends and family. When Melina started working her and Dana came together. When Dana insisted she was responsible and could be on another shift and didn't need Melina to be on the same shift . This arrangement lasted a month. Dana kept calling in. Showing up with the make up from the night before. Matt also made her tell Dana she was fired as he knew it was her step sister." Hey we need to talk." Said Melina as she watched Alicia for her body language. " Okay . Let me clock in and I'll be right there."said Alicia as Melina knew that wasn't going to happen. " You won't need to do that." Melina said as she Alicia eyes roll with an attitude she knew was coming. " And why the hell not. I'm already running late. " She said now louder as she stood by the register that was in plain view . " I know fifteen minutes late. Come to the back for a minute and let's have a talk." Melina urged as she tried to bring her away from customers. " Why can't I clock in?" She said as she began to click in her head what was going on. She refused to come in the back and move to the back to talk. Cici saw the struggle as the voices carried as he came out to assist. " Hey you two can't be doing this here there are customers watching. Come to the back and stop yelling." He said as Alicia refused to move as she didn't like to be told what to do. " Well I'm not moving until she tells me why I can't start my shift!" Demanded Alicia as she got louder as the customers began to look. Melina held out the paper as she tried to be discreet about the termination but Alicia wanted to be difficult and argue. Alicia was looking at the paper refusing to take it. " Your firing me for being fifteen minutes late. Who the fuck are you to fire me. Your nothing here just a cashier.yoy can't fire me!" She said louder. " It's not for being late. " Melina said calmly. " Then tell me what the hell is it for? " She demanded. " Just read the slip. " Said Melina as she still refused to take the termination papers from Melina. " No you tell me what I did and I'll decide if I'm going to leave . It's not like your going to actually do anything to me."laughed Alicia as Melina saw this becoming a really big problem. " I was trying to spare you the embarrassment by talking to you in the back. But since you refuse to handle this with grace . Your being fired for unlawful sexual acts against a minor might I add during a shift."said Melina trying to sound firmer than she felt but Alicia looked pissed now her business was out there in the open. " He was sixteen . I'm only two years older than him. Besides who told you , cici. What the fuck man she didn't need to know what I did and didn't do . This is some bullshit against my rights. Your not supposed to tell other employees personal information." Screamed Alicia now upset . " I didn't tell her anything." Cic defended himself as he was spending too much time trying to get her to come back as the timers for the food blared and he ran to the back to flip the food. " Then how the fuck do you know what I did. You weren't even here. Move Melina I don't have time for this bull shit." She said as she tried to move Melina to clock in. " They have on video. Security camera caught you and him. For christ sake you didn't even close the door. Couldn't you wait till you two were off the property before you popped his dick in your mouth. That's why they are letting you go." Melina said as Alicia stood there as she waviered if Melina was bluffing her. Then pulled off her shirt and threw it at Melina . Melina caught the work uniform and hat as she still held out the termination papers . " I didn't need this job anyways. A bunch of happy bitches making minimum wage. I fucking go broke driving here." Yelled alicia as she yelled. " I'm really sorry about this. It wasn't my idea to do it this way. I tried to keep it quiet." Melina said as she offered the paper to Alicia to sign to confirm her termination. " But you need to sign this to confirm we did have this conversation and you were notified of your termination." Melina said eventually as possible. " I'm not signing shit. Fuck you bitch. Wait for me I'm going to mess you up." Said Alicia as her hot head was showing like her reputation. " That's fine. You know where I live I'll be waiting." Melina said as there was no point in acting scared now. The threat was made and the termination was final. She left as Melina shook her head. She came in the back as cici shook his head in disapproval. Melina looked at the unsigned paperwork. She had one task to get her to sign that paper. " Well that didn't go to well. She refused to sign it ." Melina said as she held the paper feeling like a failure to complete the only task assigned to her. " Hey no problem. You took it better than I would have. You didn't cuss at her or get mad. You tried to be nice about it. Just tell Matt she refused to sign it and put a statement behind her termination. She still is fired if she is refusing to sign. That's just an acknowledgement of the reason why she was terminated." Said cic as Melina relaxed a little when she realized she didn't mess up after all. " So are you going to fight her?" Asked cici as she knew the assistant manager was messy but now antagonizing the situation. " She is just blowing smoke. She has a reputation for being violent but she doesn't know me like that." Said Melina trying to reassure herself more than cici. " I thought you two were friends." He said confused. " No. She gave me a few rides to school and I payed for the breakfast.other than that we don't really hang out." Admitted Melina. " Damn that's cold. Okay well she is gone . We won't have to worry about her being late again." He said as Melina didn't realize her being late was a problem with Alicia as they didn't really talk like that. " Okay suit up. You'll be back here with me cooking since I can only do so much until Matt and Bobby comes in. You'll be between prep and cooking and washing up today." He said as Melina nodded . " But first take care of that paperwork and put it on Matt's desk . The door is open . I opened it in hope she would listen to you and not cause a scene." Said cici as Melina wrote the statement and cici signed as a witness. Melina helped cici as the day was a blur and Matt came in the middle of the day as he was at a charity event for the store. Matt came in and saw the paper and the statement. Cici washed his hands to go speak with Matt about how it was handled leaving Melina alone to man the cooking and prep area. Matt came back around laughing with cic so she knew she didn't screw it up too badly. " Did you really tell her you know where I live . I'll be waiting." Said Matt as cici laughed. Melina shrugged as she dropped some fries. " We got ourselves a furious fist employee. That girl didn't even flinch when she fired her." Said cici as he antagonized the story as he always gave people more props then they deserved. " Ok well. Thank you for handling it. I'm sorry she threatened you like that. " He said realizing the error of his choice to allow Melina to handle her. " Oh if you did it . The results may vary but the outcome is the same. She has a hot head . She is just angry for no reason." Said Melina as she salted the fries and dropped from nuggets. " I see. Thank you. Your getting really good at managing the cook area." Said Matt noticing her versatile work ethics. " Thanks. I try." She replied as Matt and cix left and Melina did the cook station to the end of her shift.
