Chapter 2 I met my wife at Home Depot
I decree that nothing can be placed on this page in the name of Jesus!
Michael POV*
Out of all the places, I met my wife at Home Depot.
Why?
Believe it or not, being an archangel didn’t mean you stayed in heaven 24/7.
It meant the opposite; you were constantly undercover on Earth.
This was the same for me, Michael the archangel.
I was always secretly an angel but appeared as human as I could to others, living on earth and in Heaven.
However, long before I was human, we were on a mission together.
Archangels had missions together. We joined God as his people and fought on behalf of humans, fighting against evil.
And the story between us began. I would notice her on every mission I had, and always will. Because between us, every mission, one angel was the “winner,” and it was either her or me. I usually won, but if she was in the mix, then she would find a way to defeat everyone. I would notice her winning beside me, fighting beside me, like no one else I had ever seen before, fighting. She fought with grit, ease, smartness, and determination more than me. I would notice her enjoying every mission, but specifically enjoying helping people. She was a rival, yet I was ever taken by her, despite the fact that she would revel in winning every mission. I knew she enjoyed helping God as much as I did and wanted to do good.
Between us, we were the best in class on missions. The embodiment of rivals, yet it was I who first wanted to ask her out. Like yin and yang, we were opposite sides of the coin that just matched together. Despite being rivals, we got along but were insanely competitive with each other. Arguing whoever could do better. She would win a fight against a spirit, cheer to herself adorably, that she won! I would smirk to myself, just thinking about how I could get better and top her performance.
I made it my mission to ask her out, having her as my first girlfriend.
I came up to her nervously, my crush on her showing noticeably. Michael was to be unbelievably handsome! His hair was a red that glowed in strawberry blonde highlights alongside his smile that included dimples. He was in shape, so he was never ashamed to hide how he worked out, yet was humble enough to never let his looks go to his head. The same went with all the angels, including Bryanna, who was unaware of Michael’s crush on her until he asked if he could go to Home Depot with her.
" May I go to Home Depot with you?”I asked in my normal chivalrous manner. Michael was an old-fashioned romanticist who had dreams and fantasies of catching her off her feet. So, he was the type to catch her in how he spoke. He spoke like a prince coming to life, with his manners and suavity. He thought this, ‘asking to join her, maybe even carry whatever she wanted,’ could be his way of getting to know her better, because he was already building this massive crush on her. Was it weird to try to join her? Was it weird in how I asked? Or was this finally the moment that we can be more than friends, more than rivals?
She thought he was polite when he asked, and responded with an equally polite, “yes.” They were undoubtedly a polite duo of perfectly innocent archangels who knew each other for some time.
“Oh! I think I will win this mission,” Bryanna amused Michael with a big, beautiful grin that causes his dimples to grow bigger into his familiar smirk, “Maybe, maybe, unless I win.” He said, folding his arms. Bryanna loved competing against Michael in missions because she won. She was the competitive type who, when it came to it, would pray to win, because that’s how winners won.
Or at least that is what she thought, but Michael would love her no matter what.
When that date of their date came, there was no spiral of flirting. It was hard to tell whether it was a date; she would pick up an item, ask for his opinion, and he had a familiar response of, “That’s good, you can get that one.” She would put the item down, then again pick something else, and he would have the same response. It was a repetitive yet simple conversation between the two of them that had the other thinking about doing other activities together. He was simply happy to be with Bryanna; the idea of a date came to him, but first, there was spending time together.
She imagined them being on a date, but was not sure; that was the moment she started thinking about him. They enjoyed each other’s company at the end, and when he said goodbye, he kissed her on the cheek in a too casual way that had her falling.
She continued thinking about him afterwards. How lips felt against her cheek and whether it felt more between them, she had to ask him on a legit date. They eventually went on a date, and after another, Home Depot became the place that both considered their first unofficial date.
So, years later, Michael considered proposing at Home Depot. And he did. In that lifetime, he spent years married to her.
However fate turned, she helped him in two ways more than one by proposing to her.
Because Archangels could go back to any present moment in the past and future.
Michael even made a habit of going back to propose to her differently every wedding anniversary.
Every anniversary, Bryanna had a new memory of Michael proposing to her, along with seeing another future Michael claim that she was the love of his life in a part of his proposal speech, and that they would be married forever because he would be forever happy with her as his beautiful wife.
One day, He even brought her to the moment that they were engaged, but five minutes just before he proposed, so his younger self would know that she was going to say yes. And so, Bryanna had gone back to that moment and saw herself as he proposed to her.
That was the moment Jesus said that changed everything.
That one moment in time had the power to change their memories. Bryanna woke up happy because her memories were that Michael took her to see herself being engaged to Michael.
It became a thing in their relationship to go back, go forward, or change something. Like calling it their unofficial date, official.
So Michael wanted to do something, so he went back to the moment he asked to go to Home Depot with her, and made it specific to her, " I want it to be a date,” he said as he asked her out, getting them to be a couple technically early. He smiled at her, knowing that he would date her and that they would get married! She was the love of his life! And they always had a Home Depot, which is why he proposed there.
And that’s how time travel worked: you could go back to your old body and relive the moment, or you could have multiple versions of yourself and watch yourself get proposed.
But when Bryanna became human, she lost all the memories of them.
When this happened, Michael knew that he would remember everything! That he could just go back and remember it all for her, so that she could get her memory back! He is the one who remembers everything.
That is why God also loved him because he was the first to pray to remember everything if he were ever to be human.
And after all this Time Travel, let’s just say that God wanted in on the action.
Now, Archangels not only had this ability to go back to the past, but God did it all the time to prevent events in the future from occurring. It was his favorite hobby to change something to protect the children he loved or change something to see if Michael remembered what really happened.
He changed the way they met.
He went back, back to the moment he created them and made them human.
And if they were human, they would meet at Home Depot instead.
However, aware of the consequences, Jesus and the Father wrote down a prophecy of what would happen if his two favorite angels became human.
The Bible so clearly tells that God loved his humans so much that God would leave the ninety-nine to look for the one. And there was a prophecy about the end times that this would actually occur in life. That the one would be the last lamb that he needed to collect, that he would have to snatch out of the devil’s hands himself, for the fight for his people was between them.
Evil vs Good.
The prophecy tells that his favorite would be the one, the one that he has to find in the End Times.
Knowing this, God knew Bryanna would be targeted because she was the favorite and had no memories, not even of him.
As God looked from the heavens, there was only one part of the prophecy that the prophets foresaw.
That if Michael the Archangel had ever been in love with a human, it would be the end of him as an angel.
However, it was too late, as Michael saw his wife have a normal human life, he wanted one with her. He was already in love with her as an angel and as a human.
Therefore, Michael, in his angel form, begged God if he could see her one day. To which God agreed, excitedly, he had been waiting for this moment since he created it, he waited for the moment they would meet.
So when she just so happened to be at Home Depot, and God knew the place meant something special to them, Michael waited at the paint section where customers could pick a card of a shade of paint.
In Bryanna’s point of view, her world changed the day she met Michael at Home Depot.
‘As she was walking, she saw a boy in the painting aisle and thought he was so handsome he could be an angel. That was what she was thinking when her eyes caught him looking at the paint colors. She was seeing an archangel. He was handsome, his hair was red and curly, his looks were a strong kind of handsome, like there was no denying it. His eyes were too bright, a blue that shone like the halo that circles him.
She was so young back then, believing in angels wasn’t a big deal, but believing in God was.
So, she went up to him, nervously even looking at herself, and went towards fixing up her appearance, her long brown hair that fell back on her shoulders. She was wearing a typical, normal outfit for her, a ‘nice outfit,’ she thought, and even matched him. It was something one would not expect an archangel to wear, but she wore her go-to school jeans that she later considered her favorite afterwards because she remembered wearing them when she met an angel.
She asked him if he was even an angel, and he said, “Yes, I’m an angel. How did you know?” playing pretend. His smile was obvious; he was still in love with her, even now more, and planned to marry her again, but first he had to start over again. He had to ask her out again; it would be at the Home Depot. He thought about it, and one thing was for sure: they would fall in love no matter what place they were in.
So, when he said he was an angel, she grew excited at once. She asked, jumping on top of her tiptoes, “Really, that’s so cool! Do you know God? Is he real? What’s it like being an angel? How is it with him? "
As he thought about it, he was happy to answer because God was his favorite person. He was the one who allowed her to be with him in the first place. So, he told her exactly what it was like, “like God is our father, always protecting someone and getting to protect someone you know, that he would always ask him something and get it in return. Or like a friend that knows you. “As he said that, he remembered one of his favorite conversations with him.
God didn’t play favorites, but God knew Bryanna and knew she would do something big; she would be the human to remember everything about him if she ever remembered Michael. That is why Michael knew why she was his favorite.
Michael spent his time with her at Home Depot making jokes, talking about family, and life, and Bryanna made him smile with everything she said. She kept asking Michael about what it was like to be an angel. He thought everything she said was funny; to him, the funniest person was his wife. The way she joked, even if it was not conventional, to him, she could joke about everything, and he would still love her.
She, on the other hand, kept thinking about him as someone she met, of all places, and what this meant, asking him about everything. " What about life? What is your favorite thing about life? She said. He replied, “People, and love.” She thought that was the best answer. " Huh, me too, - mean not that I thought about it, but I mean I am thinking about it right now, and yes people are good, food is good, I would say food or anything pink because I was just looking at that. I wanted to find something to paint my room pink because, well, I like pink, but can’t find it. Would you like to help me?
It was the first thing that came to mind to keep talking to him, because she was running out of material. She just spluttered out pink, but her heart was saying that she was not even allowed to paint her room, because she slept in her parents’ room. But she did not want him to know that; she just wanted to keep talking to him.
So, she did. She babbled on and on about the colors for her room, while asking his opinion as an attempt to flirt with him, because at this age, she did not know whether she should, but it was worth a shot. His wife was trying to flirt with him, and the first thing she thought of was asking him for help. Something he had fantasized about. Her asking to help him carry something, or asking him to help her, so he could swoop in and save her while they were together.
One thing is that she never asked for help before, because she always said she could do it, and she always did. In fights, the only time she asked Michael for help was as a distraction to the person she was fighting with. Michael just so happened to walk into the room at the exact moment she was fighting. He said yes, but then, after confusing the person she was fighting, with one punch, she killed him. " I didn’t actually need help,” She said out of breath.
And there she was, as a little girl, about the age of six, thinking Michael might not think that she was cool.
He dragged out, “Soo… I have a question for you: do you have friends?”
She thought it was the oddest question, and questioned whether she looked friendless, and if she spent too much time bothering him, but that wasn’t the case. " Yes, I do! I have one best friend.” He smiled, and he thought of everything he could tell her. Tell her the truth and that she was his best friend, because he wanted his best friend back. So, he asked, " Do you mind if we become friends and hang out, maybe more if you like?” She smiled brightly at his question. She thought a little angrily, though, that she didn’t want to remain just friends; she was also happy to think she could be friends with an angel, even best friends.
He friend-zoned me. I’m not pretty, that’s why, she thought. And this was far from the truth because she was one of the prettiest angels back then.
However, as she looked at him, saying, “Yes, I would love to be friends, and as friends we will meet here. Because you’re here and I’m here, if you that’s what you want. Because I don’t know where you live.”
She still thought, maybe. Maybe there was something.
And that’s how Home Depot became their place again
