Chapter 12: You Betrayed Me
The morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow on the room where she lay nestled between her two lovers. Her heart pounded as she shook them awake. “Get up! Fernando could be here any moment!” she urged, her voice tinged with urgency. A familiar voice cut through the tension like a knife. “Too late,” it said from behind her. She spun around, panic rising in her chest. “Baby, it’s not what it looks like. I can explain,” she pleaded, her heart racing. “Calm down, brother,” said Ribero. Trying to defuse the situation. “She was bitten by a vampire and called us for help. We stayed all night to protect her. “Fernando’s eyes narrowed as he examined the bite marks on her neck. Seeing the truth in their words, he leaned in to plant a tender kiss on her wound. She winced, the pain a sharp reminder of the night before.”
Don’t be afraid, my love,” he murmured soothingly. “I won’t let anyone harm you.” But his expression darkened as he continued, “Alezxander is back. He appeared in her mirror and sent a necromancer as payment for his return to life.” Her body froze at the mention of the name, and tears welled in her eyes. “That jerk ” she sobbed, clutching Fernando and Ribero’s hands desperately. “I didn’t know who he was. I’m sorry. Please don’t hurt me,” she begged, burying her face in Fernando’s chest. Fernando pulled away, anger simmering beneath his calm exterior. As he stood, Ribero wrapped his arms around her protectively. “He came here before tonight and you never told me?” Fernando’s voice was a controlled fury.”
I was scared,” she admitted, clutching Ribero tightly. “I didn’t know who he was.” I killed him to protect you, and this is how you repay me? Now you’re marked by a vampire,” Fernando spat, his fist crashing down on the nightstand, splitting the wood with his rage. Her tears flowed freely as she cried hysterically. “Fernando, she didn’t know. He manipulated her," Terri implored. But Fernando’s anger was relentless. “Stay away from her today. I don’t want to see you,” He commanded, his words a final blow. As he stormed out, her tears fell silently, a river of regret and sorrow. An hour later, Yoshi arrived, his arms laden with offerings of comfort—pizza, wine, and a decadent chocolate cake from Johan. He knocked gently, his voice soft as he called, “Hi, beautiful. It’s Yoshi. May I come in? “Dragging herself from bed, she opened the door. Yoshi took one look at her tear-streaked face and set everything aside to embrace her. “Terri told me everything. I’m so sorry,” he whispered, pressing a consoling kiss to her forehead. She exhaled a weary sigh, grateful for his presence. He brought her to the couch, locking the door behind them. “I brought you some food. Let’s just relax,” he said, offering her a slice of pizza and a glass of wine. She took them with a murmured
“Thank you,” her heart heavy but comforted by his warmth. As they ate, she leaned into him, still listening for any sign of Fernando’s return. She dreaded inciting his wrath further. But Yoshi’s presence was a balm, and she felt the day’s tension slowly easing away. Meanwhile, in a shadowed corner of the world, Aleczander seethed. “You made her hate me!” he accused, his voice a venomous hiss. “You’ll win her back. Soon you’ll be alive again, and she won’t want that Fae,” Niko replied, dismissive and smug. “Whatever. I’m done with your business," Aleczander retorted. But Niko was unfazed. “The vampire king paid handsomely for her blood. He craves more,” He taunted. Aleczander’s blood boiled. “He’ll get nothing from me! “Niko merely shrugged.
“Let’s finish this,” he said, stepping back. Aleczander stood in the center of an ancient symbol carved into the floor, surrounded by chanting wizards. Slowly, he felt vitality return to his limbs, warmth spreading through his body as life rekindled within him. “Excellent work, Niko,” Ivan praised, embracing his son. “Thank you, Dad,” Aleczander replied, his eyes gleaming with renewed purpose. With Niko and the wizards gone, he whispered, “Time to reclaim my wife. “Back in the cozy confines of the living room, Violet and Yoshi finished the last of the wine, laughter and companionship lulling her into a peaceful slumber. Gently, Yoshi moved her to the couch’s other end, covering her with a blanket. He tidied up, not wanting to provoke Fernando’s ire should he return. Just as Yoshi stepped outside to dispose of the trash, Fernando’s car pulled up. “Thanks for watching her. You can leave now,” Fernando said, his tone still icy. Yoshi nodded, taking his leave. Inside, Fernando surveyed the room, his gaze softening as he saw her sleeping form. His emotions were a tangled web of love and anger.
Bending down, he kissed her forehead gently. Her eyelids fluttered open, and she tensed at his touch. “Don’t be scared. I won’t hurt you,” he assured her, though his heart was heavy with the weight of betrayal. “I’m upset you entertained him, but I won’t let him destroy us. You are my fated mate, my future wife,” he declared, sealing his promise with a kiss. Though hesitant, she returned his kiss, her love for him still burning despite the chaos. “That’s my good girl,” he murmured, his breath warm against her skin, sending shivers down her spine. Wrapping her in his arms, he whispered, “I want us to marry soon. Once you’re marked, I can truly protect you. Do you trust me? ”Yes,” she replied, her voice a quiet surrender. Together, they settled on the couch, Fernando pulling her close, wrapping them in a cocoon of warmth and security. “Goodnight, my sweet girl. I love you,” he whispered, kissing her forehead.” I love you too,” she murmured, her heart a conflicted storm as she drifted into sleep.
