Chapter 10: The Truth in the Blood
The Alpha opened the letter, but something still blocked the scent. The families fell. The legacy rose. She slept. They prayed.
The Moon Goddess whispered. And beneath the midnight light, the bloodline healed as Rosa’s body mended, and her destiny stirred.
Luca woke up the following day. It is Saturday, and he gets out of bed to prepare for the day. Luca yawns and stretches out the kinks in his body. He looks over at his mate, lying in her bed, and sees that she is the same as she was yesterday. Luca smiles at the sight of her and can hardly believe she is finally there with him, never imagining they would meet in such a way. He did not want to see that again in his life, ever. Luca kisses her forehead after walking to her bed and whispers into her ear while caressing her pale cheek. “Good morning, Sweetheart; I hope you get better soon,” he says to her.
Luca then turns around, gathers his clothes, and heads towards the bathroom to shower and change. When dressed, he emerges from the bathroom. He sees that someone has left a plate of bacon, eggs, hash browns and sausages, plus a steaming hot cup of coffee on the table. Luca sits down and eats his breakfast.
Dr Mancini enters the room while eating, checks on Rosa, notices that Luca is eating breakfast, and says, “Good morning, Luca; I hope you slept well.”
Luca replied before putting another forkful of food in his mouth, “Good morning, Cristian, and yes, I did under the circumstances. Do you know who left the plate of food for me?”
Cristian replied, “Yes, one of the kitchen staff here thought you might like something to eat, so she brought you a plate.”
Luca replied, “Okay, can you thank her for me, please?” he asked the Doctor, who then responded, “Yes, of course, I can,” he said.
Luca thanked him and asked, “Cristian, is there a phone I can use? I need to call Elder Gabriel and update him on the situation. Arianna knows about it,” he added.
Cristian answered, “Yes, of course. You can use the phone in my office now if you like,” Luca said, going to the Doctor. Thanks, Cristian. I will. I will need someone to stay with Rosa,” he said.
Cristian said to him, “I can stay with her while you call the Elder if you like. I need to check up on Rosa anyway,” he said.
Luca says, “Okay, thanks; where do I go?”
Dr Mancini replied, “Turn right, and it’s on the left-hand side, four doors down. I will wait until you return and check on Rosa while speaking to the Elder. Cristian tells him.
Luca then answers, saying, “Okay, thanks for the directions, and I will call him now,” as he had said to the Doctor.
Cristian replies, “No worries.”
Luca walks out of the room to find the Doctor’s office. When he enters the office, he closes the door for privacy and calls the Elder’s number.
The phone rings three times. Elder Gabriel answers it himself. “Hello, this is Elder Gabriel Lombardi speaking. How may I help you? “He inquires.
Luca answered, “Hello, Gabriel; it’s Luca calling.,.
Gabriel replies, “Luca, this is an unexpected call.” He tells the Alpha, “But I will call you anyway because I found information about Rosa. Instead of talking over the phone, I will see you,” the Elder tells him.
Luca replied, “That’s good because we have also found out something, and I need you here because it concerns you, too.”
Gabriel answers curiously. “Me? Why, what’s happened?” he asked.
Luca replied, “Um, like you said, it’s better to talk more privately. I need to show you something in person. Can you come here?” he asked.
Gabriel said, “Yes, I can; I can be there within an hour.”
Luca says, “That’s good to hear. If you want to stay longer, I will have someone set up one of the guest bedrooms for you.”
Gabriel replied, saying, “Thanks, Luca, I would appreciate that,” he said before.
Luca then responds, “No worries. I will get Stefano to escort you to me when you arrive and settle in,” informing the Elder. We have a lot to discuss,” he says to him.
The Elder replied, “Alright, be there soon.”
The Alpha answered, “Okay, see you soon.” Luca replied. They both hung up the phone, and Luca returned to Rosa’s room.
Luca re-entered the room and saw Cristian sitting at the table, writing his notes into Rosa’s chart. He informs the Doctor that the Elder will arrive within the hour. Arianna knows because she would notify the Elder of Rosa’s medical situation.
The Doctor said, “Yes, I know how you are feeling. I was the same with Arianna; I was waiting to meet her. I waited three years I find her, and the wait was excruciating. When I finally found her, I was happy when those three years ended,” he tells him. “The waiting will go quicker than long as you keep yourself busy doing things,” he continues. “By doing this, the time will go quicker. She will be awake before you know it, and the waiting will be over before you know it,” he says to him.
Luca replies, “Thank you, Cristian. I needed to hear that,” he tells him.
Cristian replied, “No worries, Luca,” as he finished writing his notes into her chart. “Arianna or I will come by later to check on her again, or when the Elder comes,” she said, informing the Alpha.
Luca replied, “Alright, thanks for the pep talk,” Luca told Cristian.
The Doctor headed towards the door to check on his other patients. “No worries, Luca,” he said to him. Christian left the room as Luca waited for the Elder to arrive.
Luca sighed and then linked Stefano, saying, “Stefano, it’s Luca.”
Stefano replied, “Good morning, Alpha; how did you sleep, and how is our Luna Rosa this morning?” he inquired.
Luca answers, “Good morning, Stefano. I slept well under the circumstances, and Luna Rosa is doing well, too.”
Stefano asks Luca, “That’s good to hear about our Luna. What can I do for you?” he asks.
Luca replies, “I just wanted to let you know that I called Elder Gabriel earlier this morning, but revealed nothing about what happened. He discovered something about Rosa and me, and will be here shortly. I need someone to prepare one of the guest bedrooms for him,” he explains to his Beta.
Stefano tells Luca, “There is a room ready for the Elder. Someone got the room ready last night, and it’s the one three doors down on the right-hand side of your room, “his best friend informs.
Luca replies, “Okay, thanks for that. Let me know. Please bring him over here after he has arrived and settled in?”
Stefano replied, “Of course, Alpha, I will “, responding to him, saying, “Is there anything else you need?”
Luca replies, “No, not now; I still have a bit of paperwork to complete. How is training going?”
Stefano told Luca, “The training is going well, and everyone is improving as they go. According to Giovanni and Lorenzo, it is time for the morning training session as we speak,” he informed his Alpha.
Luca replies, “Okay, I will let you get back to it then. I will talk and see you later,” Luca says to his Beta.
Stefano says to Luca, “Yes, Alpha will do.” Luca replies. They disconnect the link between them.
Luca sat down at the table and started on the paperwork. Forty-five minutes later, he received a nudge on the link. Luca answers it. “Yes, this is Luca. What is it?” he asks the person trying to link with him.
“Alpha, it’s Stefano. I just wanted to let you know that Elder Gabriel is here and is asking for you. Shall I bring him over?”
Luca replied, “Yes, please, Stefano.”
Stefano said, “No worries, Alpha, we will be there in a few minutes.”
Luca answers, “Okay, see both of you soon.” He answers back and breaks off the link.
Minutes later, Luca could hear Stefano’s and Gabriel’s voices. He hears the Elder asking Stefano, “Why are we here at the hospital?”
Luca comes out of Rosa’s room and answers the Elder’s question: “Because I’m here, Gabriel,” he says.
The Elder then turns around at Luca’s voice and sees him. Then, he asks, “Why? What’s happened?”
Luca answered, “Please follow me, and you will understand why I asked you to be here.” He explained this to the Elder as they entered through the door and into the room. Luca walked towards the bed, with Gabriel following behind him. Gabriel saw someone lying in a hospital bed, attached to medical equipment.
Luca asks Stefano, “Could you please get the doctors for me and come back here?”
Stefano says to Luca, “Yes, Alpha,” and then leaves the room.
Luca replied, “Thanks, Stefano.”
Stefano replies, “No worries, Alpha,” and walks out.
Luca then focuses on the Elder, looking at the person in the bed.
The Elder asked him, “Luca, who is this?” Please don’t tell me who I think it is,” he asked sadly.
Luca sadly informs him, “Gabriel, please let me introduce you to my mate, Miss Rosa Romano, or should I say, Romanetti,” as he introduces the Elder to her.
Gabriel gasps at Luca and asks him in shock, “What happened to her? “He inquires. As he says this week, doctors and Stefano re-enter the room.
Luca sadly explains what happened.
Gabriel turns around and sees two doctors coming toward him. The men then introduce themselves to him. “Hello, my name is Doctor Cristian Mancini, and this is my mate and partner, Doctor Arianna Greco-Mancini,” they say, shaking hands. We are so sorry to have to meet you this way,” they tell him.
Gabriel answers, “Yes, me too. May I ask about her injuries?”
Arianna speaks up. “Yes, of course, you can, Sir. She has sustained bite marks, cuts and bruises on her arms and legs, but it could have been much worse,” Arianna explained to him.
“How?” Gabriel asked her.
“Well, she had a backpack, which protected her back from getting hurt. Otherwise, it could have been bad and might not have survived; it is an absolute miracle,” they said. “I keep her under sedation for the pain while she is healing. Still, we are also following the instructions in a letter from her father, Antonio Romanetti, that Rosa has been on a scent blocker in tablet form since the age of thirteen. It could be up to a month for her wolf to come to the surface,” she explained to the Elder.
Gabriel looks at Luca and the two doctors, a surprised expression on his face. “What letter? From Antonio Romanetti?”
Luca then spoke, “Yes, two pack members that I asked to go to her place and get some things for Rosa and bring them over had found some letters sealed in envelopes addressed to Rosa, Rosa and her mate, you and me,” he said to the Elder.
Shocked at this news, Gabriel asks, “What did the letter say?”
Luca replied, “Here, read it for yourself,” as he handed the letter over.
Gabriel took the message and read it. Well, that explains everything about what I found out about her and her family, because what I found out includes your family and their deaths,” he tells Luca sadly.
Luca looks at Gabriel and asks him, “How?” in a trembling voice.
Gabriel said to him, “The others might stay and hear this as well,” he said to Luca.
The Alpha replies, “That’s fine with me. So, what did you find out?”
The Elder tells them, “You’d better get seated now before you fall after what I’m about to tell you, especially you, Luca. “They all look at the Elder and sit down. Gabriel then explains what he has found out about Rosa’s family. “Here to start?” he wonders.
Luca says, “What did you mean? That explains everything after reading the letter?”
Gabriel sighed and said, “Okay, I will begin from there.” Then he explained, “It was the mention of them taking the scent blockers to be safe from our kind.” Then he continued, “And the accident involving your family also affects her family. It’s all connected,” he revealed.
Luca asks him, “How?” Confusion on his face.
Gabriel continues the conversation, “Both of your families took part in the same accident with the other car driver that night, but we thought they were human and not werewolves,” he told them.
Luca then figured it out. “It was the scent blockers they were taking. No one could scent a wolf’s scent on the remains,” he said to the Elder.
Gabriel is not at all surprised that Luca has worked it out. “Yes, it was because of the scent blockers they were taking, and because of them, sadly, we lost not only eight pack members but two families as well,” he informs them.
Luca then asks, “But was it an accident?”
The Elder replied, “Yes, it was an accident caused by a drunk driver. He died on the way to the hospital, but not before having a blood test done; he was way over the limit and should not have been driving.”
Luca then asked, “Is there anything else?”
Gabriel continues to learn about Rosa’s family. “Yes, there is more. Rosa thinks her family is in Italy, and the graves she found are memorials to them. Is that right?”
Luca replied, “Yes, that’s right,” to the Elder.
Gabriel answers, “It’s not true. The graves that she had found were indeed her family’s graves. Also, there is no memorial for any of them back in Italy. They discovered that the old Alpha was Rosa’s Grandfather from their original pack under Luna Crescenta, which translates to Luna Moon,” he explained.
Stefano then asks, “What happened to them to come here?”
Gabriel answers, saying, “Mario Romanetti had a falling out with his father, the Alpha Pietro Romanetti, over how he treated the pack. Instead of stepping down like he should have done, Mario challenged him. He lost the fight and then banished his mate, Maria, their daughter, Nicoletta, and her mate, Antonio. They have not spoken to each other since then. I also learned that Petro had died from a heart attack two years after the pack banished them, and there was no heir to take over,” he tells them.
Luca asked,” Who is the Alpha now?” he inquired.
Gabriel answers, saying, “Their current Alpha was formerly their Beta, Alexandro Acosta, and is leading the pack the way Mario wanted, but it was too late. Rosa’s family was living and dying here; it became their home, and no one knew how to contact them until I did yesterday, after you called me. Then I called all the packs in Italy until I found the right one,” he said to all of them.
Luca asks, “What did they say when you contacted them?”
Gabriel continued, “Well, it surprised them to hear from me, but Alexandro apologised for what happened and said he would like to contact you,” he said to Luca. Otherwise, that’s everything. I must do the letter from Antonio that you found,” he said.
Luca replies, “Yes, of course, here it is,” and hands over the letter to the Elder after retrieving it from the desk drawer.
Gabriel says, “Thank you,” as he opens the letter. He then slowly and carefully reads the words on it.
Minutes later, he finished reading the note from Antonio Romanetti. “My letter was like yours, Luca, with more information added. It was exactly like what we were talking about,” the Elder explained.
Luca asks him, “What happens next, Gabriel?”
The Elder replies, “Well, there is a number where you can contact Alpha Acosta in Italy. And as I said, it is up to you to call him without pressure. Finally, we must wait for your mate to heal and inform her of what has happened. Until then, it’s business as usual,” he tells them all.
Luca said, “I have a question: if Mario had won the challenge, he would be Alpha, and Antonio would have taken over. Does that make my mate his heir and Alpha Female?”
Gabriel replies, “She is the rightful Alpha Female because she is his only heir.”
Shocked, Luca replies, “So you’re saying my mate is an Alpha Female?”
Gabriel replies,” Yes, Luca, I am, because she is an Alpha Female; her injuries will take even less time to heal.”
Luca told the Elder, “Wow,” still trying to get his head around what he had discovered about Rosa’s family. “Right then, if that’s everything, let us get some lunch at the packhouse,” he said after looking at his watch. “Is that okay with you, Cristian and Arianna?”
They said, “Yes, spend some time with your pack members; Rosa is doing well,” Arianna told him.
Luca replies, “Okay, thanks. I’ll see you both later,” as everyone leaves the room.
Cristian said, “Yes, we will see you later. Enjoy your time with your pack members and your lunch,” he replied.
Luca then said, “Yes, I will and thanks both of you for your support,” he said to both doctors, who in return told him respectfully, “Oh, no worries, now go eat your lunch, “as they tried not to laugh at not telling their Alpha off as they all left the room. The two doctors went back to continue their rounds.
Luca, Gabriel, and Stefano headed to the dining room through the back door for lunch after washing their hands and taking their seats at the table, where everyone awaited them. The kitchen staff served the food fifteen minutes after Luca introduced Elder Gabriel to the pack members. They all welcomed him.
The Elder said to them, “Thank you for your kind welcome; it’s an honour to be here, but not how I hoped it would be. We can all pray to the Moon Goddess for Luna’s health to recover and wake up, as we all need her. Please call me Gabriel,” he informed them.
They then served themselves. Luca enjoyed spending time with the pack members and his mate. When lunch was over, Gabriel suggested that Luca and Stefano shift into their wolf forms to let them out. Luca and Stefano agreed, so they left the back door and shifted into their wolf forms. Gabriel’s wolf has light, blonde-coloured fur and green eyes. In his human form, he has hair and eyes of the same colour. He is well-built and stands six feet tall. Stefano has a medium build, black hair, and green eyes, similar to those of his wolf form.
Luca, Gabriel, and Stefano ran for three hours and then turned towards the packhouse as it was time for the afternoon training sessions. They shifted into their human forms and went to shower and change. After showering and changing, Luca invited Gabriel to watch them train; he agreed to see and walked over with Luca and Stefano. Everyone had completed the training session.
Gabriel said to Luca, “They are doing well with the training,” he told him.
Luca said, “Yes, they are, but there is still room for improvement; they will get there eventually,” he replied, checking the time on his watch. “It’s time for us to get ready for dinner,” he said to the Elder.
Gabriel answered, “Okay, then let’s go,” and they walked side by side towards the packhouse.
They entered the packhouse via the back door, washed their hands in the extra sink in the mudroom, walked to the dining room, and sat down after taking their seats. The kitchen staff served the food 15 minutes after the guests had taken their seats.
Luca let Gabriel get his own plate before anyone else, including himself. Then Luca, Constantino, and Stefano turned to help themselves, and the rest of the packs turned to serve themselves.
As they ate, Luca turned to the Elder and asked him, “How long were you thinking about staying for?”
Gabriel answers, “I was thinking of staying for a few days. Is that okay with you?”
Luca replied, “That’s fine with me; I will go between the pack members and stay with my mate at the hospital. Walk around the territory any time you like to,” he informed the Elder. Gabriel thanked Luca, and they continued eating dinner.
When everyone had finished eating, Luca told the pack that Elder Gabriel would stay until tomorrow to make him feel welcome and help. They all replied, “Yes, Alpha,” and to the Elder, they said, “Welcome, Elder Gabriel, to the Ferrera Wolf Pack. We are very honoured to have you here,” as they crossed their arms over their hearts.
Gabriel replies, “Thank you very much. It is an honour to be here, but it is not how I hoped it would be. I ask that we all pray to the Moon Goddess for Luna’s health to return and for her to wake up. Please call me Gabriel; the Elder part makes me sound old,” he says as he chuckles at the last bit of what he said.
So did Luca and the pack members, who replied, “Yes, Gabriel.”
Luca then dismissed them from the table. Everyone went their separate ways, but not before thanking the kitchen staff for the delicious meal they had prepared.
They then left the dining room to attend to other matters before settling down. Luca turns to his brothers, Stefano and Constantino, to check on his mate and get an update on her. They both ask him to keep them updated on her condition. Luca agrees he will let them know as they leave the dining room and head towards the back door.
Luca asks Gabriel, “Would you like to come with me?”
Gabriel said, “Yes, I would; thank you for asking.”
Luca replies, “No worries, you’re welcome there anytime,” to the Elder.
Gabriel then says to him, “Thanks, Luca.”
Luca replies, “No worries,” as they head towards the pack’s hospital and Rosa’s room.
As they entered the room, Luca noticed Arianna checking on his mate and asked, “How is she doing?”
Arianna looked up to see Luca and the Elder enter the room. She says to them both, “She is doing well under the circumstances. I just gave her some more pain medication,” she informs them.
Luca replies, “Thanks, Arianna, for looking after her,” to her. She answers him, “You’re welcome, Luca. Rosa is our Luna, and everyone is praying for her speedy recovery until the scent blockers are out of her system. There is not much else we can do but wait and keep her as comfortable as we can until either Rosa or her wolf wakes up,” she explained to him.
“Yeah, all this waiting is hard,” he told her.
Arianna told him, “I know it’s hard, but it will all be worth it when she wakes up at the end of all this,” she told him.
Luca said. She will be frightened and confused,” he replied to her.
Gabriel looks at Rosa and then at Luca and says, “Yes, she will be frightened and confused. That’s why you need to give her father’s letter. Because it will help explain everything to her, why it happened, and what will happen next. At least she will be prepared; her wolf will help support her. You will be there too, and so will the pack to help answer questions that she might have, and there will be questions that I can get to you,” he explained.
Luca replies, “Thanks for the help.”
“You’re welcome, and any time you would like to talk about anything, Cristian and I are both here for you,” Arianna replied.
Stefano and Gabriel nodded their heads in agreement with the doctors. Luca thanked the three of them again.
They responded, saying, “No worries, Luca,” Arianna told him as she finished checking on Rosa and let Luca and Gabriel know she would be back later, before retiring for the night to check on her again.
Luca told her, “Alright, I will see you later. “He told Arianna, leaving the room to check on her other patients. “Yes, see you later,” she replied as she left the room.
Luca and Gabriel then took one last look at Rosa before leaving the room, returning to the packhouse, and heading towards his office to further discuss his mate and other pack matters.
Luca and Gabriel entered the packhouse by the back door and headed to Stefano’s office. When they arrived, Luca let the Elder go through the door first. Gabriel sat on the couch while Luca headed towards the minibar. Stefano returned to them before asking them if they wanted a drink. They both said, “Water will be fine, thanks.”
Luca takes three small bottles of water from the cabinet’s bar fridge, hands two to the Elder, his Beta, and keeps the other one for himself.
Gabriel and Stefano say “Thanks” to him.
Luca replies, “No worries.”
Gabriel then speaks up first. “Luca, I was just wondering how long Rosa had been renting her family’s property,” he inquires.
Luca replies, “According to my brother, Constantino, she rented it for two weeks. Why?”
The Elder then said, “How long has Rosa been here?”
Luca replies to him, saying, “She has been here since Monday, so that’s five days. Why?”
Gabriel answered, “I’m just wondering what will happen when the two weeks are up, and there is one week and two days left on the rental contract. I know she paid for the two weeks, but do we know if or where she works?” he said to them both.
Stefano spoke next. “Yes, she works. We discovered she is a receptionist to the head manager at the local community hospital. We found it in her purse when we were looking for some form of identification,” he informed the Elder, who then asked the Beta, “Who is the head manager there?”
Stefano replies, “Her name is Gianna Gallo,” and the Elder’s eyes widen at the news.
Luca sees Gabriel’s face. “What’s wrong?”
The Elder answered him, “Are you sure?”
The Beta replies, “Yes, I’m sure she is an emergency contact for Luna. Why?”
Gabriel responded by addressing both men. “Because she is one of us and is also a pack member of yours,” he explained to them as he continued to speak. Gianna has been working there for a few years; strangely, Rosa works there, too.”
Luca asked the Elder, “Could this be the Moon Goddess at work?”
Gabriel replied, “Why would you say that?”
Luca replies, “Because I thought that maybe I could have been hearing her voice in my head lately,” he explains to the Elder. The Elder gasps at hearing this news and asks, “How many times and when?”
Luca replies, “The Voice spoke to me twice, on Saturday and Thursday,” he informs the Elder.
Gabriel asks him, “What did the Voice say to you?”
Luca replied, “The Voice said to me on Saturday, You’re welcome, Alpha Luca Ferrera, and on Wednesday night, the voice said someone will reveal everything soon, Alpha Luca. ′ “he told the Elder.
Gabriel asks,” What were you thinking about before the voice spoke to you? He asked him.
Luca replies, “Well, the first time was when I was in bed on Saturday night; I wondered if the Moon Goddess was helping me find my mate. “The second time was Wednesday night, when I was also in bed. I asked what we would discover about the Romanetti family and my mate.”
After thinking about it for a few minutes, Gabriel said, “I think you are correct about the Moon Goddess helping, but I think it started when Rosa found the ‘For Rent’ ad in your brother’s real estate office. “This explained them both.
Stefano then says to Luca, “It makes sense, Alpha.”
Luca thinks it over and agrees with both of them. “Yes, it makes sense because we know the ad should not have been there,” he explained to the Elder.
Gabriel then tells them, “The Moon Goddess is one mysterious woman, and I will need to update Gianna on Rosa and what has happened to her and tell her not to come back to work as Rosa will take an indefinite leave of absence. Is that okay with you?”
Luca replies, “Yes, I think that is a clever idea; we don’t need the extra worry from her work colleagues.” He and Stefano both agreed with the Elder.
Gabriel stands up after looking at the time on the clock on Luca’s desk. It was after eleven, and it was time to retire. The Elder tells Luca and Stefano, “Well, I guess it is time for me to hit the hay, so to speak; it has been a long day.”
Luca said to the Elder, “Yes, it has been a long day since we found out,” and agreed with the Elder. “Well, I am off to bed. I will see you in the morning. Goodnight to you, Luca and Stefano,” he said to them.
They replied, “Goodnight, Gabriel,” as the Elder left the office, knowing that Luca slept in the same room with his mate.
Luca looks at his Beta and asks, “How is everything?” he inquires.
Stefano replied, “Everything is going well,” he said back. “And the Luna?” asked his best friend and Alpha.
According to Arianna, Luca replies, “She is going well too; I’m on my way there to check on her before going to bed. Would you like to come?” he asks his Beta.
Stefano replies, “Yes, I would, thanks.”
Luca replies, “No worries, we’d better go.”
Stefano says, “Okay,” as he follows him to the hospital.
They both enter the hospital and head towards their mate’s room. Entering through the door, they looked at their mate lying in bed. Luca goes over and kisses her forehead. Stefano looks away to give them privacy.
Luca hears a soft knock at the door and says, “Come in.”
Cristian and Arianna enter the room to check on Rosa.
Luca asks them, “Why are you both here? Is something wrong?”
Cristian replied, “No, there is nothing wrong; we are both here because we have both finished our rounds, and Rosa is our last patient to check up on,” he said.
Luca replies, “Oh, okay,” as Arianna goes to check on Rosa. Minutes later, she finishes and writes her notes on Rosa’s chart. She tells him, “She is doing well.”
Luca replied, “That is good to hear,” he told her.
Cristian then answers, “Yes, it is. In just a few more days, the cuts and bruises will be gone,” he informs Luca, who replies, “I can’t wait to see them gone,” wincing as he remembers how it happened.
Arianna replies to him, “Yes, I think that we will all be happy to see them gone. Next comes the hard part when she receives her wolf and wakes up,” she says to them.
Luca replies, “Yes, it will be hard, but I know that we will be okay because we have the support of everyone in the pack.” Both doctors and Stefano agree with him.
Cristian said, “We will see you in the morning, Alpha.”
Luca says to them, “Okay, goodnight.” They both say goodnight to the Alpha and leave the room, leaving Luca and Stefano there.
Stefano told him, “I’m glad that she is doing well,” and he said to his Alpha.
Luca then says to him, “Yes, me too.”
Stefano then says, “I’m heading off to bed too if there is nothing else you need”, he inquires.
Luca replies, “Um, no, I’m good for now; go to bed because I’m heading off to bed myself,” he tells him.
Stefano said, “Okay, then, goodnight, Alpha.”
Luca replies, “Goodnight, Stefano,” as his Beta heads towards the door and leaves the room.
After Stefano had left, Luca looked at his mate and sighed. “I can’t wait for you to wake up,” he said, kissing her forehead again and caressing her left cheek. After doing this, Luca turned toward the bathroom to get ready for bed. Once he had changed for bed, he slipped between the sheets and instantly fell asleep.
While everyone slept, a strange light flashed in the room near Rosa’s bed in the middle of the night and touched Rosa softly. All her cuts and bruises disappeared, instantly.
The light then suddenly vanished as it had appeared from the room, not even disturbing the sleeping Alpha lying in the bed next to his sleeping mate.
